Three years of blissful dating came to an end last week, as Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard shocked the celebrity gossip world by breaking up. “He saw the relationship as distracting from his goal of being the next Robert De Niro,” an insider says. “He wasn’t supportive of her career.”
With a role on Royal Pains and a critically-beloved role on My Boys, Howard does have a bright acting career in front of him. He reportedly felt like Conrad’s reality star roots weren’t an appropriate fit.
“All of her friends can count on one hand the amount of times they’ve seen him,” said a source, adding that “Lauren is heartbroken, she wants to be married and have children.”
